New Zealand, apparently, can spawn a terrific power pop band. Future Me Hates Me is a rapid-fire collection of catchy tunes–it starts out with a driving beat and riffy guitars, and really never slows down. If this were 1985, this band would be huge. Like Go-Gos huge. It’s easily one of the best debuts of the year.
This is The Beths’ first record. If this is how they start, I can’t wait to see what happens when they get some momentum.
