Captain America #284 (1983)

Mike Zeck takes a break and DeMatteis and Buscema offer a story where Cap and his new partner, Nomad (the 1950s Bucky), intercede in a domestic violence situation.  These days, you almost never read a Marvel book that even has civillians in it, let alone a story dedicated to saving a “normal kid” and his mom from an abusive spouse.  I always liked these stories—they made the heroes feel more grounded in reality.

Creators: J.M. DeMatteis and Sal Buscema
