WEEKENDS ARE FOR SINGLES featuring Jason Isbell, The Smashing Pumpkins, Interpol, Freeway and more!

Hunnybee, the new single from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, is musically intricate dance music. Very interesting, very cool.

I really, really like Lily Allen’s new album. It’s the one we’ve been waiting for since her first album. Here’s the video single…

Also, eels covered Prince!

Two new Jason Isbell songs! Or, not new, but unreleased up to now…

The new album by Lithics is good. Here’s the lead track:

I’m With Her covers Vampire Weekend.

Sean Alan and the True Love Band are releasing a new album with a new single, and it’s good…

Freeway is back with a new single, and he sounds bitter. Guess he found too many bandwagoners and not enough real friends.

On the other hand, Interpol is also back–and they sound…Pretty much like they always have. The Rover may not show growth, but their sound is still a good one. I dig it.

And while we’re sharing about returns, Smashing Pumpkins are back. Am I crazy, or does the background riff sound a lot like The Cars? Whatever they’re doing, it’s working. This is an awesome song.
