WEEKENDS ARE FOR SINGLES featuring a new (and great!) Frightened Rabbit single, a Don Henley cover, and more!

This week’s WAFS feature is great. Seriously. Every single song is a pure winner.

I’m kicking it off with a really cool new song by GENTS…

This Don Henley cover will drive people to Daddy Issues’ latest record, and I don’t think they’ll regret it. Good album, good cover.

Frightened Rabbit have a new single out, and it feels like a return to form. Their last album left me cold–it felt overproduced and lacked truth. But this slow, breaking, political single feels both timely and heartfelt.

Ghostface protege Trife channels (hell, covers) The Beatles on his new one…

Okay, maybe it’s not fair to classify this double-A-side as postpunk, because it’s got a little bit of a jazz feel too, but I feel like it fits my theme for the week.

Ice Cube may not be as good as he used to be, but he has a new single out.

Admit it: You’re curious.
