HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAGMAN–THE SECRET INFLUENCER OF FRANK MILLER?

Ragman wasn’t a particularly memorable DC character (though I understand he may be making a comeback soon, on TV).  His first issue went on sale on May 13, 1976, without much fanfare.  It was written by Robert Kanigher, a Golden Age writer of Flash, and drawn by Frank Redondo, who was best known for war and horror comics.  He’s actually quite good–I wonder why he didn’t get bigger?

Anyway, I was reading it online a while back and noted this scene:

Look familiar?

I thought they looked pretty similar.  But it could just be coincidental.  Even if it is, it’s cool to see such an iconic sequence done slightly differently, ten years earlier.
