Manhunter takes down the evil Council, but dies in the process.  In the 1990s, Goodwin and Simonson were contracted to create a sequel: Manhunter: The Final Chapter, but Archie died before he could finish the job.  The book was eventually released, without dialog, and I can’t find it anywhere.  Apparently it focused on a Kirk clone, and in the end it was clear that Kirk and all Kirk clones were dead.
