Power Man and Iron Fist #5

Not the strongest issue of this fantastic revivial—a guest artist steps in as David Walker essentially does a done-in-one filler story that recalls both the movie Rashomon (telling the same story from multiple viewpoints) and an old filler issue of Thor (#356) that fell smack in the middle of Walt Simonson’s brilliant run in which Hercules tells a story to make himself out to be a hero only to find that others need to see the facts differently.  That issue of Thor is one of my favorite comics of all time, by the way, which might be why I didn’t find this issue of PM&IF as satisfying as I might have.

Still, Walker’s writing is so good, so different, and so fun that even a mediocre issue of this comic is better than 80% of whatever else you bought during the month.
