DEADPOOL’S UBIQUITOUS PHASE (2008)

Along with Daniel Way’s run selling better than any other Deadpool run before it, Deadpool started appearing everywhere.  There were one-shots, like Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu, and Deadpool: Games of Death.  There was a miniseries called “Deadpool: Suicide Kings” that was actually pretty good.  Created by Mike Benson and artistAdam Glass, it was a noirish tale involving Punisher, Tombstone, and Deadpool being framed for a crime he did not commit.  It was dark and serious—exactly the kind of Deadpool story we have been missing since Daniel Way took over the character.  I’d recommend it.

And best of all, there was the re-engagement between Deadpool and Cable in The Messiah War, a huge story crossing over between X-Force, Cable’s solo book, and several X-Men books.
