I can’t say exactly why, but this freEP blows me away. The vocals are haunting, the music is the ideal compliment–simple and provocative…Great lyrics like “Your bed was my stable, and I lost my head…(is that a very veiled Godfather reference?)…And I’m not quite sure/You could mean more/Than anyone else has.” Now that’s how you write a love song.
It’s just an all around perfect EP.
The band hails from Portland, and their sound is exactly what I would imagine from the region–at least based on the episodes I’ve seen of Portlandia.
I can’t wait to hear more from these guys (and gal). I know it’s early, but this is easily the best EP I’ve heard so far this year–and I’ve already heard at least two dozen.
