I know I said that I’d stick with reading every single issue of The Amazing Spider-Man, and just cherrypick the good issues from the spin-offs diluting the title, but issue #264 made it hard to keep my promise. Written by Craig Anderson, who wrote only one other comic book (as far as I know) and drawn by Keith Cockrum’s wife (who must have known that’s why she got the job, and therefore was too embarassed to have her last name listed in the credits). When Marvel goes for a filler issue, they don’t kid around. Complete crap. It’s really hard to justify this when Web and Peter Parker were both also running extremely mediocre stories (to use an oxymoron).
#265 was fine. Typical mediocre Tom DeFalco. But #264…Wow.
