Another predictably great issue with some wonderful large fight scenes. So many artists can’t draw multi-player combat, and they resort to big explosions or chaotic backgrounds. Miller focuses on faces and figures, and usually has a stark white or black background. Sometimes, he would even just portray combatants in silhouette, to accentuate the sense of movement.
But I really want to focus on how Matt is portrayed as a total dick. He’s bullied Heather into marrying him, and now she has a drinking problem. Then Foggy, in a remarkably proactive move, gets Black Widow to forge dear John letters from Matt to Heather, and vice-versa.
Nobody, I mean nobody, at the time was putting this much thought into comic book relationships.
