CONGRATULATIONS TO MIKE RAICHT—DISNEY PICKS UP STUFF OF LEGEND!

The Stuff of Legend—about a battle between toys and demons in a child’s closet—is a great example of how a book can speak to multiple generations simultaneously.  While it’s probably a little too dark for wee ones, I’ve read it with my kids when they were 9 and 10, and later volumes when they were 11 and 12, and all three of us loved it.  It’s got suspense, action, well-defined and sympathetic characters, great art, and wonderful prose.

Plus, Mike Raicht, who has contributed to this very blog in the past, is one of the creators, along with Brian Smith and Charles Paul Wilson III.
And now, it’ll be a Disney live-action/CGI movie, directed by the dude who did the great Gorillaz videos.

This development deal couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, or a better comic.
