David Vandervelde’s latest EP, “Nothin’ No,” released hot on the heels of his retro record with the Moonstation House Band. Lots of you must know David as the friend, tourmate, producer, and sometimes-collaborator with/of guys like Richard Swift, Spoon, Mark Eitzel, Jonathan Rice, and and Jay (“Wilco”) Bennet.

“Nothin’ No” is a simpler affair—bluesy rock and an excellent, albeit too-brief instrumental about a bird. I actually like the EP a lot more than the album. But here, you can A/B it for yourselves:
